In America we recently elected the first african american president, and that moment will go down in our history books but I feel as though Barack Obama was elected for all the wrong reasons. I feel as though he was elected because people wanted to be a part of that one moment in history where we elected our first African American president, especially since we had younger voters. In my opinion Obama was not elected because of all his experience and leadership and in reality he was not that different from John McCain, who btw McCain is a war hero and people criticized his limp and they didn't know that McCain was a Vietnam prisoner of war for over 6 years and he didn't mention it during his campaign because he was too humble ( though I think if McCain won it wouldn't be as different, and frankly there would be no huge changes in either of their administrations). Wasn't one of Obama's promises to get out of Iraq? Well he did comply with that EXCEPT were going to Afghanistan. Obama is a charismatic guy and all but our country is not going to progress much with him. But lets Face it... our government is so corrupt that it is safe to say america is no longer a free nation. We can clearly see we don't have the freedom of speech by turning on the television and hearing the censorship. we can't criticize the meat industry because they will sue us AND WIN. We are electing people with power so they can bring their biased views to represent the common folk. Our people are dying because they can't afford to go to a doctor. We "fear" socialism? Sure I think the government just doesn't want to spend any money on us because if they do they will have to get paid less. Sure those socialist/communist nations we fear have universal healthcare and free university. The government hides so many things from us because they can't trust us because we are all Russians spies ;) and they won't tell us if there's a D.U.M.B under the Denver airport. Did the CIA shoot JFK? The way we're electing leaders it won't be long until we elect another Hitler because history does repeat itself. or we might lose democracy as a whole and be like mexico where we have el dedazo where the president picks who will succeed him. And what I'm trying to say is that as Americans we can take down all these corporations that are sending their leaders to be head honchos of our government and just help the small business owner and not the HUGE corporation trying to monopolize. And what I guess I'm saying is that the end won't come from an apocalypse but rather than from a home made monster, with false promises. LOL Mik I say go POWER to the PEOPLE... Read More »
